Company Policies & Standards
Heroic Service Standards for Metro Vancouver & Beyond
1. Damages and Claims
At Hercules Helpers, we take every precaution to protect your items. However, in the event of an issue, our claims process is governed by the following:
- Written Notice: Any damage claims must be submitted in writing. All damages must be noted on the Bill of Lading (BOL) on the day of your move before our crew leaves the premises.
- Final Inspection: While our movers assist in the inspection, the final walk-through is the responsibility of the customer. Your signature on the BOL confirms that services were rendered and goods delivered in good order, except as noted.
- Payment Prerequisite: As per standard BC moving industry practices, all move charges must be paid in full before a claim can be processed.
2. Item Preparation & Handling
Refrigerators & Freezers
All units must be completely emptied of contents before moving. For your convenience, we recommend loading these items last and unloading them first at your new location.
Aquariums
We only move aquariums that are completely empty of water and living creatures. We are not responsible for the structural integrity of the glass during transit.
Drawers & Cabinets
Please empty all dresser drawers, file cabinets, and desk drawers. Overstuffed furniture is difficult to handle and prone to structural stress. Drawers may need to be removed to navigate stairs or tight corners safely.
Flat Screen TVs
TVs are highly sensitive. While we take extreme care, in the absence of physical evidence of external damage to the box or padding, Hercules Helpers is not responsible for internal electronic failure after delivery.
3. Appliances & Specialized Items
Plumbing & Electrical
Hercules Helpers is not responsible for damage to plumbing or electrical systems, or for water damage associated with the connection or disconnection of washers, dryers, or refrigerators.
Heavy Items (Over 300 lbs)
We will move pianos, appliances, and oversized items if the work can be performed safely. Please note that moving these items carries a risk to floor surfaces; if you choose to proceed, Hercules Helpers is not liable for minor floor scuffs or surface damage.
4. Service Flexibility
Last-Minute Changes
If your move requires work beyond the original scope (additional rooms, extra stops, etc.), we reserve the right to fulfill our existing schedule before completing the extra work. We may need to postpone additional services to our next available window.
Crew Size
Hercules Helpers reserves the right to determine the appropriate crew size for each job based on schedule, availability, and safety requirements.
5. The Heroic Loop Supply Terms
Our circular supply system (herculeshelpers.ca/loop) is designed for efficiency and savings:
- Box Buy-Back: Up to 75% return credit for gently used cardboard and wardrobe boxes returned in reusable condition.
- Rental Gear: $80 deposit for plastic totes (50% returned). $15 deposit for furniture pads (up to 75% returned).
- Fees: $150 flat fee for delivery/pickup. $60 additional fee for delayed pickups (1 week later).
6. Weather Conditions
In the interest of safety for our crew and your belongings, Hercules Helpers reserves the right to reschedule moves during extreme weather (heavy snow, freezing rain, hurricane warnings). We will prioritize your move for the next available safe date.
